A client in Vancouver told me our app's 'secure login' looked like a bad magic trick.
We had this fancy biometric login for our expense tracker, but the user flow was a mess. They said, 'It feels like you're asking me to pull a rabbit out of a hat just to log a coffee receipt.' We scrapped the whole thing and rebuilt it in two weeks, focusing on a simple PIN with a backup email code. Has anyone else had a feature that sounded cool but just annoyed users?

Honestly, isn't this just like those smart fridges that try to show you recipes? They add all this tech for the wow factor, but most people just want the cold part to work right. It feels like companies get so caught up in the new shiny thing that they forget what the tool is actually for.
