Hey everyone, I'm setting up a small crypto exchange and need to get registered as an MSB with FINTRAC. I've reached out to a couple of the big corporate law firms in Toronto, but their retainers are absolutely insane for a startup.
Does anyone have recommendations for a lawyer or firm that handles FINTRAC compliance without charging an arm and a leg? Preferably someone who actually responds to emails?
I'll second the recommendation for Substance Law. I had a really specific question about foreign exchange rules and FINTRAC, and they were the only ones who gave me a straight answer without demanding a massive retainer first. Super easy to work with and very fast turnaround.
