Compliance partner ghosted us during our demo, what now?
Last month we were two weeks out from a big pitch in Toronto with a bank and our compliance partner just stopped answering calls. I had to explain to the founder that we'd have to show their missing sign-off, and he nearly pulled the whole thing. We ended up using a temp regulator consultant for $4000 and got the demo done, but has anyone else had a key vendor vanish at the worst possible time?

Saw a similar story in a founder group on LinkedIn last week, someone's security auditor went dark the day before their SOC 2 renewal call. It's wild how often these outside partners treat your deadline like it's optional. You did the right thing paying for the temp consultant though, a $4000 hit is way cheaper than losing the whole bank deal. That founder reaction makes total sense too, nobody wants to look unprepared in front of a big client. Next time I'd lock in a backup person before you even sign the first vendor, just in case. Keep that consultant's number handy, they might end up being your regular go-to.

Vendor flaking at the worst minute is brutal, feel for you. Good call on the temp hire, that saved the deal for sure.
