Heard a VC in Toronto say 'open banking is dead' last week

He was talking at a small event near King Street, saying the slow rules from Ottawa killed the chance for new payment apps. I think he's wrong because companies like Flinks are still building tools for it. Are people really giving up on open banking here?

Hear this all the time when a big idea moves slower than hype. People called the internet dead in the early 2000s after the dot-com crash too. Building useful stuff quietly always beats loud pronouncements.
