Our payment gateway went down during a demo for a big investor in Toronto

We were in a boardroom on King Street showing off our new app, and the whole checkout flow just froze. The investor, from a major fund, was watching and asked if this was normal. I had to switch to a backup demo account on the spot, which took about three minutes of awkward silence. Has anyone else had a core tech fail at the worst possible moment and how did you bounce back?

Three minutes of silence is nothing. I once had a demo crash so hard I had to restart my laptop, which took ten minutes. We just sat there while it updated. The investor actually fell asleep. You bouncing to a backup account was a pro move, even if it felt like forever. At least your tech failure had a quick fix. Mine just turned into a weird nap session for everyone.
