Serious question, how did one demo call turn into my best day at a Toronto fintech startup?
Last Thursday I was shadowing a payments demo for a small credit union in Mississauga and they asked about our onboarding time. Our sales lead said "about two weeks" and the room went quiet, then the ops manager said their current vendor takes two months, so they signed a pilot on the spot. I spent the rest of the day setting up sandbox access and by 6pm we had our first real API call from a live client. Turns out the boring compliance talk was the thing that closed it. Has anyone else seen a pilot close faster than your usual sales cycle, and did it change how you pitch?
