Serious question, I got burned by a Canadian fintech startup's 'instant' transfers and I need to know if this is normal
About six weeks ago I signed up for a Toronto-based fintech app that promised instant e-transfers to my landlord for my rental properties. I manage 14 units around Hamilton and I thought this would save me a ton of time chasing tenants for rent. First couple weeks were fine, money moved in minutes, I was telling everyone at my property management meetup about it. Then on the 22nd a tenant's $1,850 payment just vanished from their account and my app showed nothing for 4 days. I called support and got a guy who kept telling me to 'check the status page' which hadn't updated since March. Money finally showed up but their 'priority support' email bounced back twice. Anyone else dealing with a small Canadian startup going through growing pains like this, or did I just pick a bad one? Looking for recs on something that actually works for recurring rent payments.
