Shoutout to the small Calgary fintech that changed my view on payment apps

Last week, I was sure all payment apps were basically the same. Then a friend made me try this new one from a Calgary startup, PayNorth. They built it to work with our weird cross-province tax rules. I used it to split a big dinner bill in Vancouver, and it handled the GST/PST split perfectly without me doing any math. Three years ago, I would have said a big bank would have to solve that problem. Now I'm looking at what other small teams are building here. Anyone else find a local fintech that fixed a specific Canadian headache?

That tax thing is a huge deal... but does the app work just as well for everyday stuff, like sending a friend five bucks for coffee?

Works perfectly for small stuff like that.

Absolutely, it's great for those little payments. I split a lunch bill with a coworker just yesterday and it took maybe ten seconds. The money showed up in their account before we even left the restaurant. It's become my go-to for anything under fifty bucks because there's no fee and it's instant. Makes you wonder why we ever bothered with cash for this stuff.
