The ATM fee at Union Station made me rethink my banking app

Grabbed coffee downtown Toronto yesterday and hit the TD ATM near Union. Got hit with a $3.50 fee just to pull out $40. My neobank app advertises free withdrawals but the nearest partner ATM was 20 minutes away. Stood there staring at my phone and realized the real cost is convenience, not the fee itself. I moved $200 a month to a fintech savings account for the 4% rate, but if I need cash twice a week, that 4% disappears fast. Is anyone else doing the math on ATM network coverage before picking a Canadian fintech? Feels like the flashy features hide the basic location stuff.
