The KYC integration that ate 3 months of our runway
Our team in Toronto spent 12 weeks on a know-your-customer API that the vendor promised would take 3 days. Simple setup turned into endless back and forth about provincial ID formats. Then we found out their sandbox didn't handle Quebec driver's licenses properly. That bug alone took 2 weeks to get patched on their end. Meanwhile we had to manually verify every test user just to demo our product to a seed investor. We ended up building a workaround that we now have to maintain forever. Has anyone else dealt with a compliance vendor that undersells their integration time this badly?
