Found a job search hack that actually got me interviews

I was sending out resumes for 2 months in Detroit with zero callbacks, so I tried rewriting my resume to match the exact keywords from each job description. Got 3 interview requests in the first week after that. Has anyone else tried tailoring their resume per job and seen results like that?

Man I did the same thing after 3 months of nothing in Cleveland and it was night and day. First time I tailored a resume for a warehouse supervisor gig I got a call back same week. It feels like cheating but hey whatever works right?

Yeah it really does feel like a cheat code once you figure it out. You put in all that time and get nowhere, then one little change opens the door. Happy it worked out for you too man, that kind of relief is hard to describe.

Whoa hold on, I gotta push back a little on this. I tried the whole resume tailoring thing for like two months and got absolutely nowhere with it. Honestly felt like I was just shuffling the same crap around on paper, wasting hours rewriting bullet points that still said the same thing underneath. Then one day I just sent out a plain generic resume, no frills, and got three callbacks that week. Makes you wonder if some of it is just pure dumb luck and timing, not the fancy formatting or keywords or whatever.
