Got pushed to do a public speaking course by my boss, thought it was a waste of time.
He paid for a two-day workshop in Cincinnati last month, said it would help with client bids. Turns out, the simple trick of pausing for three seconds before answering a tough question really works. Anyone else have a small skill that ended up being a big deal at work?

Honestly the pausing thing is a game changer, I picked that up from a random youtube video last year. It makes you look way more in control when a client throws a curveball, like you're actually thinking and not just panicking. My old boss used to fill every silence with "um" and it made our whole team seem unsure of the pricing. That small shift probably saved a few deals for us.

Yeah the "game changer" talk feels a bit much for just pausing. @elizabethg85 is right, the cincinnati trip is the wild part.

Wait, they sent you to Cincinnati for a public speaking class? That's the real shocker here.
