I told my boss I wanted to lead the next client call and it went sideways

I prepped for a week, but I froze up when they asked about our data security. My manager stepped in, and later told me I needed more practice with the tough questions. Has anyone else bombed a big ask at work and how did you bounce back?

I used to wing it, but @sarah_patel25 is right, practice the hard parts.

Oof, that's rough but super common. What did you do to prep for the security question specifically? Sometimes practicing the exact scary parts with a coworker first makes all the difference.
