Old boss vs new boss at my warehouse job in Phoenix

Back in 2015 my manager was this guy named Dave who had been there 20 years and he taught me how to actually stack pallets so they wouldnt tip over. Now they got some kid fresh out of college who wants us to use these new shrink wrap machines but the pallets still fall apart every shift. Has anyone else seen a huge drop in quality when companies swap experience for fancy gadgets?

My buddy's crew in Tucson pushed back and got to hand wrap bottoms too, saved their whole operation.

Hand wrapping the first few layers makes all the difference, saved us from a wrecked load too.

Old Dave sounds like he actually knew what he was doing. At my last gig we had a similar switch where the new guy pushed those spin machines hard but the loads would still shift on the highway. We finally got him to let us hand wrap the first few layers and that cut our damage way down, maybe your crew can push for a mix of old and new.
