Thought mentoring was a waste until my boss paired me with a senior dev for 3 weeks
After 6 months of struggling with code reviews, he showed me how to break down tickets into smaller chunks and it cut my rework time by half, has anyone else had a mentor change how they approach a problem?

My buddy said his mentor showed him to test as he went instead of all at once and it saved his ass.

Yeah, testing as you go beats the hell out of finding out everything's broken at 3 AM. Been there, done that, can't recommend the '3 AM panic' method.

My mentor showed me the ticket trick too. I used to take on huge tasks and get stuck for days. Now I split everything into 2 hour chunks. Way less stress.
