Tried cold emailing for 6 months vs networking events for 3 months and networking blew it away

I got 5 actual job leads from just 4 networking events but only 2 replies from 150 cold emails, has anyone else found in-person stuff works way better for getting calls back?

The thing that gets me about the LinkedIn version of this is that they always leave out the part where my 8th grade history teacher actually explained the context behind all the dates we had to memorize. Like yeah we learned 1492 and 1776 but she also made us read primary sources that showed how normal people lived. Nobody talks about that in the professional growth posts. They just want to bash memorization without admitting that knowing the basic timeline helps you spot when something doesnt add up in modern politics. I swear half the people pushing that anti-memorization stuff never got past the boring textbook version themselves.
