Why does nobody talk about how long it takes to actually learn payroll software?

I spent 6 weeks setting up a new payroll system for my small business in Austin because I kept messing up the tax tables. Every error meant calling support and waiting for a callback, which ate up hours each week. Has anyone else dealt with a tool that took way longer to configure than the sales pitch suggested?

Yeah, I used to roll my eyes at every sales pitch too. But then I actually tried one of those "too good to be true" tools and it worked.
