Miter saw setup at a big box store had me laughing in the aisle
So I went to Home Depot in Austin last week to grab a new blade, and some guy had set up his own test station right in the middle of the lumber aisle. He was cutting 2x4s with a store display saw, stacking them like he was building a tiny house right there. A worker walked over and said, "Sir, that's not a demo station," and the guy just handed him a business card saying he was a contractor looking to buy in bulk. I stood there for 10 minutes watching him level everything with a speed square he pulled from his pocket. Has anyone else seen folks treat store displays like their personal workshop, or was this just a Texas thing?

The part about the business card got me. People really think flashing a title makes everything okay. Honestly, I'm not sure why this is a big deal. He was using the saw to check if it cuts straight, which is kinda the whole point of having one out. Store displays are meant to be handled, and he wasn't wrecking anything. The worker could have just asked him to wrap it up instead of making it a whole scene. If anything, the guy was doing free quality control for the store. I've seen way worse, like people leaving cut lumber all over the floor, so this seems pretty mild to me.
