My miter saw stand setup was all off for 2 years
I always had my saw at waist height and thought that was fine until my back started hurting after every job. A older framer I was working with told me to lower it to hip height so I'm not hunching. Has anyone else adjusted their stand height and seen a difference in fatigue?

That line about hunching is spot on. It's like how people put their computer monitor way too high and wonder why their neck hurts after work. We just assume higher is better but belittles how we actually move.

That thing about the computer monitor is way too real... I did the exact same thing. Had my saw at almost chest level for like a year and a half because I figured it'd be easier to see the cut line. But I was basically ruining my shoulders trying to push through cuts while my whole body was tense and twisted. Lowering it to hip height felt awkward at first, I won't lie... but after a week I couldn't believe I hadn't done it sooner. The fatigue at the end of the day was just gone, like night and day difference. It's crazy how something so simple can mess with your body that much.

@julia_anderson learned that one the hard way too when her back gave out mid-cut last month.
