Shoutout to my old tape measure for hitting 15 years

I was cleaning out my main tool bag yesterday and realized my go-to 25-foot Stanley FatMax is from 2009. I bought it right after finishing my apprenticeship. It's been dropped off roofs, left in the rain, and still locks up tight. The numbers are worn off in spots, but it's dead-on accurate against my new one. Anyone else have a tool that just refuses to quit on you?

My buddy's dad still uses the same claw hammer he got in 1985. The handle is stained dark from sweat and oil, and the grip is worn smooth. He built his whole house addition with it, and the claw has pulled a thousand nails. It's just a part of his hand now, you know?

Ever wonder if tools get better with age? Tbh my hammer feels like a stranger in my hand compared to what @ericj45 is describing. I'd probably bend the nail and blame the tool.

That's a tool with a real story to tell!
