That $180 router lift was a total waste of cash
Bought a cheap router lift off Amazon back in March for my bench setup in Portland. Took me two days to get it aligned and it still wobbles on every pass, so I ended up ripping it out and going back to a fixed base. Lost the money plus a whole weekend of shop time. Anyone else have better luck with a budget lift or should I just save up for the JessEm next time?

That Porter Cable 690 in my old shop had the same issue with a $120 lift I tried back in 2019. Which brand did you get, the Milescraft or the Rockler house brand? The wobble usually comes from the plastic carrier plate flexing, not the lift itself. Did you try shimming the base plate or checking if the mounting screws were bottoming out before you pulled it? Because if you skipped those, you might have given up on something that could've been fixed in an hour.
