That $200 track saw blade burned me on a big job last month
Bought a cheap Freud knockoff blade for my Makita track saw to save some cash on a 40-door cabinet job. It started chipping veneer after the third cut and I had to reorder a proper blade mid-project. Anyone else get burned chasing a deal on blades?

Nah, I gotta push back a little. A $200 blade isn't some magic thing that never chips. I've had name brand blades that chipped or burned on me too, especially on glue-heavy veneers. Sometimes you just hit a bad piece of plywood or you're moving too fast, and the blade doesn't matter as much as you think.

You hit the nail on the head with "chasing a deal." I did the exact same thing with a cheap blade for my Festool track saw last spring. Saved maybe 40 bucks and ended up ruining a whole sheet of walnut plywood because the blade wobbled and burned the edge. Had to scrap the piece and wait three days for a proper blade to arrive. Learned the hard way that track saw blades are one of those things you just don't cut corners on, pun intended.
