DAE do wrist stretches before stapling down carpet?
I started doing quick wrist rolls in the morning and it cuts down on ache from the stapler. My hands feel way better after a full day on the job.

People are actually out here stretching their wrists before stapling carpet? That sounds like some kind of Olympic sport warmup routine. I can't believe there's a whole stretch for this. What do you do, like 10 minutes of yoga first thing before you even look at the carpet? The fact that your stapler feels lighter after a hand stretch is wild to me. I thought you just grip it and go until your hand cramps up and you shake it out like a normal person.

I mean, that's actually pretty smart. I do a quick stretch where I push my palm down gently with the other hand, holding it for a bit. You get that tight twinge right at the base of your thumb sometimes, you know? Found it helps a ton with that weird pulling feeling you can get near your elbow by lunch time. Just a minute or two makes the stapler feel way less heavy in your hand by the end of the day.

Wait, @the_riley, your stapler gets heavy? What are you stapling all day, phone books? That's wild...

That's a really useful stretch for sure, but the stapler itself isn't getting heavier. It's the hand and forearm getting fatigued from the repetitive gripping motion. After a few hundred staples, those same small muscles are just tired, so the object feels heavier to lift. It's like how a coffee mug feels fine at first but can feel like a brick after holding it through a long call. The stretch helps because it counters all that clenching.
