Did a 180 on seaming tape after that job in Cleveland

Always thought the fancy heat-bond seam tape was a waste of money compared to regular glue. Then I had to redo a whole living room in Cleveland last month because the glue failed in the humidity. That $40 roll of tape saved me a full day of work and a pissed-off customer.

Honestly, thinking about it, the real win with seaming tape isn't just humidity resistance. It's that you can actually walk on the carpet right away instead of waiting for glue to cure. That Cleveland job probably would have taken two trips without it, and nobody wants to explain to a customer why their living room is off limits for a day.

Did a 180 on seaming tape" - man, that's a strong turnaround. I mean, I get it though, Cleveland humidity is no joke. I've heard stories about that city being like a swamp in the summer, but I didn't realize it could wreck glue jobs that fast. That sounds like a nightmare having to redo a whole living room. Glad the tape saved you, I might have to look into that stuff myself now.

Heard a pro on a flooring forum say the same thing about seaming tape being a lifesaver in humid climates. @the_amy, bet that living room redo made you want to scream, but at least the tape did what glue couldn't. I read somewhere that some tapes have a special backing that grabs better in moisture, so maybe check that out before buying. Cleveland summers sound brutal for any adhesive, honestly. Good to know the tape held up though, makes me think about using it even on low pile stuff.
