Heard a guy at the supply house in Boise say he uses a 6-inch drywall knife for smoothing seam adhesive
Tbh, I tried it on a glue-down job yesterday and it gave me a way flatter, cleaner line than my old notched trowel method, has anyone else used a similar trick for seams?

Okay so @tylerj22, that's actually a really good point about the notches and air flow, never really thought of it that way. But seriously, what size drywall knife are we talking here, like a 6 inch flexible one or something stiffer? Because a floppy knife seems like it would just make a mess with adhesive that thick.

Huh, I always thought that was a hack for amateurs. Tried it on a tear-out patch last week and the seam practically disappeared. You get way more control over the glue spread than with those stupid notches. Might have to eat my words on this one.

Wait, those notches are actually for spreading glue? Tbh I always thought they were just for air flow.
