Pro tip: always check your tack strip gaps before you lay the pad
I did a bedroom in Fresno last week and spent an extra 45 minutes fixing gaps where the tack strips didn't meet at the doorways. I've been eyeballing it for 8 years and finally realized a 1/4 inch gap makes the pad dip and the carpet ripple no matter how much you stretch. A cheap 12 inch level showed me the spot clean. Anyone else run into this when the frame isn't square?
