Stretching a seam that kept popping at a condo install
Had a job in Tampa last Tuesday where the seam kept lifting every time I power stretched it. Turns out the pad had a wrinkle underneath that I missed because the slab had a slight hump right there. Took me 3 hours to figure out what should have been a 20 minute fix. Anyone else run into hidden subfloor issues that eat your whole day like that?

Read somewhere that laser leveling finds those humps before you start.

Funny you bring that up, cause I tried one of those once on a buddy's driveway and it just made me dizzy... ended up finding a crack in the slab that had nothing to do with the humps it was showing. The laser kept telling me one thing but the actual ground felt fine to my feet, so I just trusted the old string and level method in the end. Still, I get why people like them, they're good for big open spaces where your eyes play tricks on you. Just gotta make sure you calibrate the thing right or you'll chase ghosts all afternoon.
