Update: Used to hate power stretchers until I saw how a guy did it in Phoenix

I always thought power stretchers were overkill for most jobs. Then I watched a guy in Phoenix fix a wrinkled carpet that I'd been fighting with a knee kicker for an hour. He set it up in like 2 minutes and the thing laid flat on the first try. Now I'm thinking about buying one for my van. Any recommendations on a brand that won't break the bank?

That's just how life works. You don't know what you don't know.

Honestly that's how it goes with a lot of tools though. We get stubborn about the old way because it's what we know, then one good example flips everything. It's like how I used to swear by hand sanding until I borrowed a buddy's random orbital sander for a deck job. Now I can't imagine going back. The cheap Harbor Freight one is actually decent for the money if you're just starting out. Just don't expect it to last forever if you're using it every week.

Yeah, the Bauer one surprised me too. Good enough for weekend projects.
