Just realized my dog's barking beats my cat's silent stare every time for video calls
I've had both a cat and a dog crash my work from home meetings, and honestly the dog wins for less awkward moments. My cat, named Pepper, will sit right behind my laptop and stare into the camera with zero noise, which makes clients think I'm hiding something or that my house is haunted. Last Tuesday I was on a call with a vendor in Austin and Pepper just stood there for 12 minutes, not moving, and the guy asked if I was recording him secretly. My dog Jasper, on the other hand, barks at the doorbell and I just say 'that's my dog' and everyone laughs or ignores it. The quiet interruption is way worse than the loud one because people fill in the silence with weird theories. Has anyone else dealt with a pet that sabotages a call by doing nothing at all? What do you do, pick them up mid-sentence or just let the creepy stare play out?
