My cat unmuted me during a board review and announced my snack stash
Was on a 9 AM video call with my boss and 4 coworkers last Wednesday, reviewing quarterly numbers. My cat Luna jumped on my desk and I thought she was muted so I said “yes, that's the report, also I have three bags of sour gummy worms in my drawer” while feeding her a treat. Turns out she hit the spacebar with her paw, so everyone heard it plus her crunching sounds. My boss laughed and said “we'll circle back to the gummy worms later” but now I'm paranoid about every video call. Anybody else had a pet trigger keyboard shortcuts at the worst moment, or is my cat just too clever?
Sounds like your boss made a joke and moved on, which is what normal people do. Nobody's sitting around replaying that clip wondering about your gummy worms. Cats walk on keyboards all the time, this is like the most common work from home story out there.
