My cats face during a job offer call made me rethink my answer
I was on a video call with a recruiter in Austin and my cat jumped on the keyboard, hit mute, and stared at me with this judging look until I unmuted. It hit me that I was about to accept a job I didn't even like just because it paid more, and that stare said more than my gut did. Has anyone else had a pet basically veto a career move mid-call?
Wish my cat had that kind of career sense. Mine just sits there licking himself while I'm on interviews, which honestly feels like the same judgment but with more body odor. I took a job once because the salary looked good on paper, and the cat didn't say a word. He just knocked my coffee mug off the desk the morning I signed the offer, and I still didn't get the hint. Now I'm the one staring at the ceiling wondering what could've been if I'd paid more attention to a feline's opinion on workplace culture. Your cat's a better recruiter than most humans I've dealt with.
Feel you on that, @craig.john. Cats have a way of knowing when something's off, and ignoring that gut feeling usually costs more than the salary makes up for.
