A stranger at the coffee shop fixed my whole week

I was having a rough Monday (spilled coffee on my shirt before I even got there) and this older lady just smiled and said 'hey, that's just a badge of being awake.' We ended up chatting for 10 minutes about her garden and how she grows tomatoes in buckets on her porch. It wasn't anything huge, but that little moment totally turned my mood around. Has anyone else had a random chat with a stranger that just made your day better?

Love this. Reminds me that most people are decent if you give them a chance. A tiny moment of kindness can totally flip your mood.

Is it just me, or does one small good thing make the rest of the day go better? Last week I was at the hardware store buying a box of tiles and some supplies, and the guy ahead of me in line turned around and just handed me a coupon he wasn't going to use. Saved me like fifteen bucks, nothing huge, but I ended up being in a great mood the whole time I was doing that job. It's weird how people being decent for no reason can stick with you longer than any big thing.
