Barista told me to stop ordering cortados after 2pm - she was right about the caffeine

Been going to this cafe in Portland for months, always got a cortado around 3pm. Last Tuesday the barista Jenny just said "hey you ever notice you crash hard an hour later?" I hadn't even connected it. She explained how the espresso in cortados hits faster than drip coffee, and my 3pm drink was wrecking my sleep by 10pm. Switched to decaf after 2pm this week and I'm falling asleep way faster. Anyone else had a coffee shop worker call them out on something?

Haha classic @ryantorres missing the point, but yeah Jenny sounds like a lifesaver.

Man so did Jenny actually explain the difference between espresso and drip coffee to you or did she just drop that bomb and walk away? Because like I've had baristas give me that kind of life advice before but half the time they just say something vague and leave me wondering. Also curious how long it took you to notice the sleep thing after you switched to decaf because for me it was like three days before I realized I wasn't tossing around at midnight anymore.

Wait is decaf even real coffee though? @joel_hall17 I still don't buy that the sleep thing is from caffeine, maybe you just got older and stopped caring about stuff. Jenny gave me the whole spiel about pressure and grind size but honestly I just drink whatever's cheapest and it all keeps me awake the same.
