Guy at the laundromat in Tulsa said I should thank the people who cut me off in traffic, and now I wanna know who's right | Chance Encounters - Babble Community
I heard a similar thing on a podcast once, some guy saying you should wave and smile when someone cuts you off because it keeps you calm. Your mileage may vary on that one, because I tried it for about a week and mostly felt like a fool. The idea is that getting mad only ruins your own morning, not the other driver's, so the "thank you" is really for yourself. Take that with a grain of salt though, some folks just aren't built to let stuff roll off. In my experience the deep breath helps more than the thank you does, but maybe that's just me.
