Had to pick between taking the bus or walking 20 blocks in the rain yesterday and the stranger who shared her umbrella changed my mind

I chose walking because I was already late, and this woman named Carol offered to share her umbrella halfway through, then told me about a shortcut that got me there 5 minutes faster than the bus would have has anyone else had a random stranger save your day like that?

Karma has a way of sending the right person at the right time, doesn't it? Carol sounds like a real gem, and that shortcut is honestly the kind of win that makes your whole day better. People who just help out of nowhere are the reason I still have faith in strangers.

30% chance that shortcut put you in a worse spot later. I've had "helpful" strangers lead me into dead ends or sketchy areas before. Carol might have been nice, but trusting random people with directions is risky.
