I hit exactly 1,000 days of taking the same bus route and nobody cares but me

So yesterday morning I tapped my bus pass and the little screen read 1,000 consecutive days of riding the #72 route from my stop near the old library downtown. I counted back on my calendar to make sure. Most people would probably call that a weird obsession or a boring milestone. But I think it actually matters because it means I saw the same street corners, same traffic lights, same cracked sidewalk, and the same tired faces for almost three years without missing a single day. Nobody at my job even blinked when I mentioned it. Has anyone else here tracked a daily habit to a specific number that felt big to you but seemed tiny to everyone else?

Wow, a thousand days of anything is seriously impressive.

You said "same tired faces" and that got me thinking. Did you ever actually talk to any of those tired faces, or did you just see them? Like did you know their routines as well as you knew your own, maybe even start saying good morning to some of them after a while?

Really feel this - sometimes a silent nod or simple good morning to the same people can make or break your whole day.
