Late for the bus, a driver's gesture got me thinking

I was hurrying to the stop. Saw the bus pulling away. Driver noticed me in his mirror. He paused and let me on. I said thanks, he just waved. It made me feel seen. Now I pay more attention to small kindnesses around me.

Those little moments really do stick with you. It's cool how something that small can change your whole outlook.

Have you ever thought about how these moments sometimes rewrite our memories of the past? Like, a small kindness today can make you see an old argument in a new light (you know, less about being right and more about being hurt). It's not just changing your outlook going forward, but it actually tweaks how you remember things. That subtle shift can be pretty powerful.

Feel this deep in my bones. That moment when someone SEES you and chooses kindness? It changes everything. I've had times where a stranger's smile on a bad day made me rethink old hurts. It's like those small acts rewrite the story in your head, making you notice good where you didn't before. Now I try to BE that person for others, paying it forward. The world feels softer when we catch these glimpses of care.
