Old guy at the bus stop showed me I was tying my shoes wrong for 30 years

I'm 34 and always just did the bunny ears method. He stopped me, showed me the 'Ian Knot' in like 10 seconds. Now my laces stay tight all day, how did I never learn this?

Nah, I'm with @lunag30 on this one. Bunny ears never failed me and that Ian Knot looks like overcomplicating a 5-second job.

Right? I swear old dudes at bus stops just have a secret manual for life we never got. I'm still doing bunny ears and probably will die that way.

I mean I gotta disagree with you both on this one. Bunny ears works fine but it falls apart way too easy if you're in a hurry or your laces are wet. The Ian Knot looks intimidating but once you practice it ten times it's actually faster than bunny ears and holds way better. Took me like 15 minutes of messing up to get it down and now I can't go back. You're selling yourselves short sticking with the old method when the upgrade is literally one afternoon of practice away.
