Old guy at the coffee shop showed me a trick for remembering names that actually works
I was struggling to remember customer names for my moving business, like I'd meet someone, shake their hand, and two seconds later it was gone. This retired teacher named Frank at my local shop in Columbus told me to repeat the name out loud and connect it to something visual about them, like "Bob with the blue hat." Tried it on three moves last week and I remembered every single name by the end of the day. Has anyone else found a weird trick that sticks better than the usual advice?

Repeating it out loud is key for sure. My grandma used to make me repeat peoples names three times when I was a kid and it actually stuck with me.

Oh, that's a good trick your grandma taught you. It really does force your brain to process the name instead of just hearing it and letting it slip away. I've found that saying something like "Nice to meet you, Sarah" out loud helps lock it in for me too.
