Ran into a guy at the library who swore by reading physical books only. Now I'm stuck between digital and paper.

Six months ago I switched to a Kindle and my backpack got way lighter. The convenience beats everything for me since I read on the bus and at lunch breaks. But I still grab a paperback for beach trips because screens and sand don't mix, you know?

The beach thing is so real though. I have a whole $7 pocket paperback I keep just for trips near water because I'm terrified of ruining my Kindle. It's nice having both options for different situations honestly.

i mean i get the sand thing but honestly i switched to a kindle years ago and never looked back. i read on the train, at lunch, and yeah even on the beach sometimes. i just keep it in a ziploc bag and wipe it down after. the weight thing is huge for me too - i used to lug around three paperbacks for a weekend trip and my shoulder would be killing me. maybe it's just me but i feel like people overthink the whole sand and screen thing.
