Rant: A customer left a book on the counter and it turned into a whole thing
I found a copy of 'The Overstory' with a note tucked inside, so I held onto it for a week until they came back. Has anyone else had a tiny moment with a stranger just kind of blow up into something that sticks with you?

Yeah, holding onto lost stuff always leads somewhere. I once kept a left-behind sketchbook and the guy came back weeks later, turned out he was an artist I really liked. @amy974 is right, it's wild how those small connections work.

Man, that sketchbook story is crazy! It reminds me of when I found a single car key in a parking lot and just left it on a curb. Who even does that? Makes you wonder what the full story was, you know? @dianahayes, your tale is way better than my weird key mystery. Some lost things just have a whole life of their own.

Oh wow, what did the note say? That book is all about how small things connect in big ways, so finding a note in it feels like it's straight out of the story.
