Serious question, does anyone else ask a stranger for directions or just trust their phone?
Last Saturday my phone died near the farmers market in Ann Arbor and I had no clue where the parking garage was. I stopped a guy walking a beagle and he didn't just point, he walked me two blocks and gave me a shortcut through the alley behind the bakery. Two weeks before that I followed my GPS in circles for 15 minutes looking for a dentist office that was literally across the street. The difference was night and day, one took 3 minutes and the other wasted a quarter hour and my pride. I've started just asking people now when I'm lost and it has worked 4 out of 5 times. The one miss was a fella who was visiting from out of town too, which honestly was pretty funny. Anyone got a rule for when to ask versus when to keep messing with the map?
