Shoutout to the guy at the laundromat in Reno who picked up my sock
Was doing laundry on a Tuesday night in Reno when a sock fell out of my basket and a guy two machines over picked it up and handed it back, which sounds tiny but this is the kind of thing that used to happen all the time and now everyone just stares at the floor. Back in the day I swear strangers talked to each other at laundromats, asked about your detergent, griped about the broken dryer, and now we all sit there with earbuds in like we are guarding state secrets. When did we stop doing small stuff like that for each other?
