Spent $150 on a food truck logo and the guy just traced a stock image from Google
The artist I paid on Fiverr swore it was original but I found the exact same clipart on a free vector site and now my truck looks like a knockoff brand, anyone else get burned by cheap design work?

Seems like a lot of drama over $150.

@jana_hart18 it's the principle not the price.

Used to think the same way but honesty changed my mind on that.

$150 is actually a pretty standard price for a basic logo on Fiverr but you get what you pay for in terms of originality. @leodavis mentioned honesty changing their mind, and I think that's part of it - being upfront about what you're actually buying matters. Look at it this way, that same $150 could have gotten you a custom hand-drawn logo from a local design student looking to build their portfolio. Those kids will often work for cheap and actually care about not getting caught copying something. I learned that lesson after spending $200 on a banner for an open house that turned out to be a stock photo of a living room that wasn't even the house I was selling.
