The cashier at a Grand Rapids grocery store changed how I buy fruit
I was at a Meijer in Grand Rapids about 6 months ago and the cashier picked up my bag of peaches, gave one a gentle squeeze, and said "these are gonna be mush by Friday, go grab the ones in the back." I went back and sure enough the front display was soft while the back row was firm. Now I always dig to the bottom or the back of the pile instead of grabbing what's right in front. She didn't have to do that and it saved me 8 bucks worth of fruit. Has anyone else had a store worker give them a tip that actually stuck?
