The day a stranger's umbrella saved my phone in a Boston downpour

I was stuck at the Park Street T stop last Tuesday when the sky opened up and this older guy just held his umbrella over me for 20 minutes without saying a word, then handed me his spare poncho and walked off, has anyone else had a silent rescue like that or was I just lucky?
