The time my grocery cart wheel locked up at the worst possible spot in the Whole Foods in Austin
I was stuck right in the middle of the produce aisle during the 5 PM rush and had to physically drag that thing 30 feet to the customer service desk while three people asked if I needed help (which only made it more awkward), has anyone else dealt with a cart that just decided to quit on you?

Wait, you had to drag the cart 30 feet across the floor and three people offered to help you at the same time? That is my personal nightmare, having to wave them off while sweating and pretending I'm fine. I honestly think those carts have a built-in sensor for the worst possible moment to break down.

Ngl that cart sensor theory has to be real because the same thing happened to me at a HEB near Dallas. I was right in the bottleneck between the frozen foods and the checkout lines, just stuck there like a statue while people glared. Had to do the awkward shuffle drag too, and one lady literally asked if my cart was alright like it was a sick pet. Nothing makes you feel more helpless than fighting a shopping cart while everyone watches.

...but here's what I don't get about this whole sensor theory everyone's tossing around. If these carts really have some kind of tracker that knows when you're in the most crowded spot, who's programming them to do that? Is it some guy at the corporate office getting a kick out of watching security footage of people wrestling with stuck wheels? Seems like a lot of effort for a prank that barely anyone would notice.
