Finally tried a fish spatula for flipping burgers after 12 years in kitchens

I always thought they were too flimsy for a flat top but the thin edge slides under patties without smashing them, has anyone else had a tool change their mind after years of sticking to the same one?

Always thought it was a gimmick until I grabbed one to flip some delicate fish once. Ended up using it for everything.

Huh, that's interesting. What kind of fish were you flipping? I'm curious if the trick is more about the shape of the spatula or the material. I've only ever used a standard metal one for burgers and it feels like it would tear up a delicate filet. Did you find it works better for thin things like flounder or thicker cuts like salmon?

Here's the thing nobody's talking about - it's not really about the fish at all. The real win with a fish spatula is how it changes the way you handle eggs. I'm talking over easy eggs, scrambled eggs, omelets, the whole deal. That thin, angled head slides right under without breaking the yolk every single time. Once you get used to that, your metal burger flipper starts feeling like a brick.
