The Saturday my station turned into a disaster zone

Last month I had a brunch shift where every ticket came in at once and I dropped a full hotel pan of hollandaise right as the expo called '46 seconds on eggs. Had to remake 8 eggs benedict from scratch while dodging a slipping hazard. Anyone else ever have a shift that made you question your whole career choice in one 20-minute window?

Dropping that hollandaise sounds rough, I once had a ticket printer jam mid-rush and just started scribbling orders on napkins.

Wait, aren't napkins usually way too small and flimsy to write legible orders on? Seems like you'd run out of space after the first ticket or two.
