Wasted $150 on a fancy mandoline that couldnt slice a tomato

I bought this expensive stainless steel mandoline thinking it would save time at prep, but the blade dulled after just 2 weeks of heavy use. Tried slicing a Roma tomato and it just squished it into mush. Anyone else have a kitchen tool that let you down hard?

Did you try sharpening it or just give up on it completely?
